2022-23 Year in Review
Ice Cream Social- August 31st
Students had their first opportunity to get FFA Points by coming down to the farm, eating some ice cream and meeting someone new. Members were given the task of meeting someone new and taking a picture with them!
Opening/Closing Contests- October 16th
We had 2 Advanced teams, 2 Novice teams and an Officer team compete at our Section Opening/Closing contest at Westminster High School. Both Advanced teams made it to the final round, earning 3rd and 4th high teams, and Emma Hernandez was awarded Most Outstanding Reporter.
La Habra Corn Festival-October 14th
Our annual Corn Festival Parade in La Habra allowed our students to be creative and celebrate our great program in our awesome city! They made posters, gathered some animals, and waved to our community members as we drove down La Habra Blvd!
Pumpkin Carving- October 19th
Our Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest took place at the La Habra Farm. Our students showed their creativity by either painting or carving their pumpkins. This was a great event for our students to meet some new people and to get into the holiday spirit.
Christmas Movie Night- November 30th
We tried something new this year and it was a blast! Our students brought their chairs and blankets to the farm to watch the Nightmare Before Christmas. They brought the snacks and we provided the popcorn and hot chocolate! This was a much needed break right before getting into the busy winter season!
Orange Section Leadership Conference - December 1st
This leadership event was held at the Irvine Regional Park. Our students started the night off with a great dinner and went into a lip synch battle! We then ended the first night off with a movie. We work up the next morning and started our leadership workshops and team building exercises!
Sunny Hills Winter Classic- December 16th
The Fall Pig team and Steer team competed at a local jackpot show at Sunny Hills High School. This was the only time the Fall pigs showed, but it was a great chance for them to showcase what they learned and practiced for. This was he first of many shows for our steer show team!
